Hello, and thank you for visiting my counselling website.

This is a space to imagine a better you. 

I use the word imagine because for me it evokes a sense of hope, creativity, and playfulness. The first steps to change come from imagining them. Our imagination is a powerful tool which can create expectations and uncertainties, or it can free us from them.

In my counselling practice, I believe anyone can create a better self for themselves. Part of this is accepting that at each step we have taken to get here, we have done the best we could. Honouring the work you have done before is a reflective and self-observant process. As a counsellor, this is something I encourage in the conversations I have. 

People have fitness instructors and personal trainers to help them improve their physical fitness. By using trainers, people build better awareness and develop healthier relationships with their bodies. The same can be done for our minds. Counsellors are just like personal trainers, by working with one you can build better self-awareness, develop healthier relationships, and enhance mental well being. It helps to get an outside perspective, or to see something from a different point of view.

Imagination will often carry us to worlds that never were. But without it we go nowhere.
